What is a flexible sigmoidoscopy?

A sigmoidoscopy is also known as flexible sigmoidoscopy, in flexible sigmoidoscopy; a doctor uses a scope to view the inner of the lower (sigmoid) colon and rectum. This technique helps to diagnose bowel issues, which include ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It can also help to identify the colon problems such as colon cancers.

A sigmoidoscopy is the best way to look for colorectal cancer or other growths which consist of small growths referred to as cancers or polyps. Polyps are not severe health issues but however, but they could turn into cancers.
